Congratulations
Dear Participants,
It’s hard to believe, but the 31st ASICS Austrian Women's Run® is already over. I clicked through the wonderful photos on our chronicle page and let many great, beautiful moments pass in review! One might think that the 31st edition of the Austrian Women's Run® has become somewhat “routine.” But quite the opposite is the case. I am as overwhelmed today as I was 30 years ago by the great participants, runners and Nordic Walkers competing together.
Strong, sporty, radiant, happy women and girls. Women who enjoy the day - enjoy the sporting challenge and surpass their previous achievements every year - and women for whom participation is simply a passionate motivation for leading a more active and eventful life all year round.
This year Olympic participants as well as beginner runners participated together. I hope, for you as a participant, that it was also an uplifting feeling to be part of this renowned group of women at the start. The fact that the love of running connects is no longer news - but has lost nothing of its topicality. 33,000 women from 92 nations attended on Sunday, 27 May 2018. For the 7th year in a row we were able to welcome more than 30,000 participants to the start. This makes us the largest women’s sports event in Europe. Thank you so much for being a part of it.
I would also like to express my sincere thanks to all our supporters: our wonderful helpers who always ensure that everything runs smoothly, our new and long-standing sponsors who support the

I would be very pleased to welcome you again to the 32nd ASICS Austrian Women's Run® on Sunday, 26 May 2019.
All the best,

WOMEN’S RUN FESTIVAL GROUNDS 2 days programme highlights
The day before the ASICS Austrian Women's Run® already created a festive atmosphere. Around 30,000 women and girls picked up their starting documents on Saturday and enjoyed the day with family & friends on the festival lawn.
The varied programme included 1,500 m² of exhibition space and 300 m² of restaurant space on the 20,000 m² festival grounds at Pierre-de-Coubertin Platz. A large number of sponsors & co-operation partners presented new products and services at the Frauenlauf Expo.
The active stage programme – yoga, Zumba, home gym and fascia training – introduced new highlights in 2018. The attractive fringe events included interesting stage discussions, the children’s run powered by BIC Kids including a dance show by Alamande Belfor, the Vienna Teen Race in the Ernst Happel Stadium and the live concert by TheRootUps as the crowning finale!
Moments that Count!
Welcome
The ASICS Austrian Women's Run® inspires enthusiasm not only in our participants! Numerous guests from the world of politics and commerce did not miss the opportunity to attend this sporting highlight of the season.
For the first time in the history of the Austrian Women's Run, Vienna's mayor sounded the starting gong. Dr. Michael Ludwig expressed best wishes to the 33,000 participants at the start. At the finishing line, Doris Bures – second president of the Austrian National Council – presented flowers to the top 3 participants in the Flower Ceremony.
Kathrin Gaal, Vienna's City Councillor for Housing and Women’s Issues, Peter Hacker, the new Vienna City Councillor for Sport, President of the Federal Sports Organisation and former Federal Minister Rudolf Hundstorfer as well as Markus Rumelhart, district chairperson Vienna’s 6th District sounded starting gongs as well.
Among the guests were representatives from the business world, above all of course our sponsors & partners.
THANKS We say thank you
THANKS to our participants & the Women’s Run community – for being there, for the shared joy, the shared wonderful moments. It is good to have such wonderful women and children (as participants), and many men (as supporters) at our side in the Women’s Run community.
THANKS to our sponsors & partners from business, media and politics for their great support, long-standing co-operation and passing on the Women’s Run idea. It is only together with them that the realisation of such a running event of these dimensions and emotions becomes possible.
THANKS to all the helpers who, every year, work with so much enthusiasm, dedication and passion, both in the organising and the implementation.
THANKS to the numerous district chairpersons who took over part of the costs for the 33,000 roses.
THANKS to the many enthusiastic teachers who ensure, year for year, that the Austrian Women's Run® remains a fixed point in the school year’s sport’s calendar, and pass on their enthusiasm for running to thousands of girls.
We look forward to seeing you at the 32nd Austrian Women's Run® on 26 May 2019!
